Due to growing popularity and our good Ofsted reports we now have more children on roll than we have ever had with appeals for places being granted regularly. We now have 117 children from reception to year six plus our pre-school groups! Some of the year groups are over-subscribed meaning that new applicants are turned down.
Our budget is very carefully managed so that we can employ experienced teaching assistants to enable small teaching groups for the benefit of the children. For example, in KS2, children are often taught in rotation by their teacher in groups of 17 or less whilst the rest of the class work on their independent tasks with teaching assistant support. This term, we also have employed Mr Bird to work alongside Red Squirrels class providing some intervention and challenge work with children in all ability groups alongside Ms Smith. In KS1, we have been joined by Miss Self, a PGCE teaching student, who will be working mainly with Y1 children and that cohort will have opportunities to join together more for some of the curriculum.
I am delighted to see children thrive at school and enjoy their lessons. We have a busy, purposeful approach to school life and welcome feedback, so please get in touch. We encourage parents to visit regularly, so please look out for invitations to assemblies and events.
