On Friday 23rd June, we all gathered on the yard to see the grand ‘unveiling’ of our beautiful mosaic! The mosaic has been put on the hut wall so that children can see and touch it every playtime and be reminded of our school value of ‘friendship’, which is part of the design.
The mosaic is a long-lasting reminder of our Aspirations Week and is a symbol of Woodside School as a learning community. Mrs Tippins, who made a generous donation following her illness, suggested a tree design, where the trunk represents all the the adults who support the children and the leaves are the children of Woodside School. Children’s ideas were included in the design-such as letters of the alphabet, numbers and children in our school uniform.
We are proud to have been included in this special project and hope the children will remember the messages of Aspirations Week-to work hard at what you want to achieve in the future and enjoy lots of different opportunities.
Thanks to all the parents who joined us -it was lovely to see you all! Thank you to Mrs Tippins and to all who contribute to PTFA funds too.
