NSPCC and Childline-Y5 and Y6 workshops

8th March 2016 Year 5 and 6 children took part in NSPCC workshops today, learning more about how to stay safe and happy. They were introduced to Buddy, who says abuse is never ok. The children looked at different scenarios and had to decide if they were acceptable. They learned about neglect, as well as three different types of abuse and bullying. Buddy introduced the children to STOP (Several Times On Purpose), so that children understood what bullying meant. The children learned about Childline and the service that they provide. They watched a short video of how Childline had helped a child. They were given a Buddy work book pack, to reflect on what they thought about people, places and things which make them feel happy and safe.
