Many thanks to Andy, who gave an inspirational talk about his recovery from losing his right leg in a motorbike accident when he was 16; to training for triathlon races; to getting to the top of the game, going to Rio and winning a gold medal. I am very grateful for his references to our ethos ‘Don’t be afraid to fail’ and to our school values, as he highlighted determination and self-belief as essential to his success. He was brilliant with our children and answered lots of questions at the end. Andy won the Gold medal in the Triathlon in the Rio Paralympics, so his name is written in history.
