20.03.20 update since this morning

Dear Parents/Carers,                                                                                             20.03.20

Thank you for the appreciation you have shown regarding the school’s work over the last week and our preparations for a very different role from Monday.

Regarding closure today for most children and partial opening from next Monday, it has been clear that the role of schools is to comply with the social distancing directive. The list of key workers produced overnight has given us more clarification but still emphasised that to limit the chance of the virus spreading ‘If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be.

Schools are being asked to continue to provide care for a limited number of children-children who are vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.

This morning we have confirmed places with parents who have requested via head@woodside.gloucs.sch.uk according to Tier 1, below. We are now able to start considering Tier 2 requests.

Tier 1 Prioritising vulnerable children and those where both parents are key workers and there is no other option for child care.

Tier 2 Offering places to families where there is one key worker and no other option for child care.

You do not have to fill out a form in response as some schools are doing. Please contact me by email at your convenience and I will respond as soon as possible.

Best wishes, Mrs Davis
